Finding out past history about your Audi

Finding out past history about your Audi
I bought a used Audi with 70,000kms on it. I would like to know the past history of the vehicle so I can do any past service that wasn't completed. However no dealer will give me this information.
Does anyone on here have any connections to find this out? If I figure out the dealer this car came from would that help? This is pretty frustrating.

Try Audi Canada, and give them the VIN. Also, you should have the maintenance booklet, with all the stamps when the services have been done. It will cost you around $14 to get a report from Carfax, or something like this, to make sure the car was not involved in an accident.

The car was never in an accident. I did see a carfax report at the dealer. So everything is ok there. The dealer gave away the manual to someone who bought a 2006 audi avant. Go figure that one out!
I will give Audi Canada a call and see what I can find. I will just have to do the brake fluid flush and spark plugs just to be sure.
Thank you.

Carfax is a joke! I would not trust it. They are only as good as the information provided to them. There are several cases where Carfax did not report that a vehicle was in an accident when it actually was because no one reported it to them. If you want to be diligent take the car to a reputable body shop and pay them to look at the frame and body work to see if they can see any signs of repair.

Re: Finding out past history about your Audi
As a recommendation, I found the CarFax (and Used Car Dealers Report) report to be inaccurate. I used CarProof for my purchase, and rceived by far more information - exactly when the vehicle came off the line and where, where it was registered etc, etc. the 2 other reports indicated that there was no accidents, and Car Proof showed a $600 claim when the car was 1 year old.
I estimated any Audi, 1 year old, has $600 worth of damage had to very minimal, and I determined tat it was the drivers side back door got a slight hit and was repainted - so I went wit the car - as that was the only issue.
I would recommend CarProof as it give a more details report especially for the Canadian Market.

I actually used both carproof and carfax buying my car.Just to see what both prints out.My car was bought in the USA,one owner,no accidents, and no rust!...the only thing the speedo is in miles in large numbers and KM is in smaller numbers.Sometimes I make a mistake and think Im under the speed limit but am looking at the miles numbers not the km...

Hey Toronto8, quick question, which report did you find to be more details - especially since your car was from the US? How long ago did you puchase, and did you find that the cost saving from purchasing a US car was worth the effort?
