Chances are the wheels are not properly balanced or that the wheels are slightly bent. Since they are new tires, they're probably not worn unevenly yet, but you'd want to look into it before it's too late.

Another possibility is that you have something stuck on the wheel to throw off the balance. You guys had snow recently right? Have you checked if there's accumulated ice/snow anywhere on your wheels?

I have had this problem when I would go from winters to all-terrains on my Tacoma. It was a wheel balance thing, and sounds similar to what you describe. Is this your new car? Can you take it to where you bought it and have them check it out?
As someone else said, I would start checking the cheap and easy things.

You could try and find a shop with a Hunter RoadForce Tire Balancing or equivalent machine. This unit can simulate tire loads on the road and find tire soft spots, etc. Had exact same issue as you and normal tire balancing machines said everything was fine. Even though tires looked mint, Hunter Road Force Test said a new set of tires was in order as previous owner bruised them whacking too many pot holes. A new set of tires later and Vibration was gone.

I will be sure to check into this and give a thorough report back on any findings...seems like this is a "common" problem for a multitude of reasons. Thanks for all the input.

Roadforce balance is a good mention, a lot of the time this clears up a lot of vibration problems I know people have had.

Warranty? take it in, and let the dealer figure it out. Even US cars (if you bought it in the states) have warranty up here...

It could be a shifted belt in one tire (can't see it on the wheel balancer always) or it could be an aftermarket unbalanced rotor (if you had the brakes replaced recently) or it could be a driveshaft that has a worn CV joint or hanger bearing.

How old are the tires?
Usually vibrations in the steering wheel come from the front, vibrations in the seat from the rear of the car. I have a vibration all around at 120km on mine and it's the tires that are the issue. 2 of the 4 have belts inside that have shifted and one happens to be in the front and the other in the rear. I am replacing all 4 this weekend since they are starting to weather crack.

I just put new tires on mine (B6) and I drove away with the thing shaking like a paint mixer... 2 balances later and a lot off aggravation I was shown one new tire with a slight imperfection...

I had the exact same symptoms but at 130!

THE FIX: a VERY good 4 wheel (re)balance and a little bit of tollerance to the remaining vibration... and I will never buy these garbage Bridgestones again!
