Default Which DV to buy?

My A4 1.8T 2003 recently had a Unitronic Stage 1 treatment so its now pushing 16 pounds. I've been told I should upgrade my DV to avoid having problems since the oem Bosch tend to fail with higher boost because of the cardbord diaphragm.

So, I've been told to either go with a Forge Split -R Bov or a 007P?

If im not mistaken, the Split-R Bov is adjustable while the 007P you need springs to adjust it according to the boost your pushing?

So, what other DV would you recommend or which one of the DV mentionned above should I go for?

TY and any imput would be greatly appreciated

While im at it what intake would you recommend? Carbonio Cold Air Intake?

Dv: most common upgrades are Forge 007, APR R1, and 710n
cheapest will be the 710n, which is the factory dv from the audi TT 225hp model. I have run 710n dv's for years in tuned cars with higher boost than your 16psi, and with no problems.
I have heard of problems with the APR R1.
The forge 007 is highly respected. Probably your best option if installing the forge 007 is to do a reverse installation and use the green spring. Do some searching on audizine and other forums for more info on this.

Intake: my recommendation is save your money. It won't make much (if any) difference unless you go BT. I use a k&n panel filter, but mainly because I can wash it, not because I feel there are any performance gains.

And finally: nice looking car! Welcome to the forum!

i heard that the APR R1 dv's had problems with the diaphragm honking and not sealing properly... they may have since fixed this issue though... i am not sure.
the 710n is also a diaphragm dv, and also does not require any tuning or maintenance, so since you can get them from ecstuning for about 40 bucks or at you local dealer for around 60 bucks, this is an easy choice (for me).
of course, as always, do your own research and make your own choices, as these are just my opinions, and i am far from an expert.
perhaps some others would like to chime in with opinions?

I've got an APR R1 dv since I've chipped my car (almost 2 years ago), and no problems. If I remember correctly APR have a life time warranty policy.

there you go! they must have fixed the problem then... i was looking at buying one about 3 years ago, and at that time, was told to steer clear.
good to hear it has been sorted out.

what do yo mean you can't find one? i have one.

33-2209 - K&N Replacement Filters, Replacement Air Filter

they are about half the thickness of the stock filter, and i had a tough time getting mine to fit the airbox, but it did eventually go.

^^I meant the intake that looks like this :

It seems they only offer it for the 2.0T engine?

This is what comes up for the 1.8T :

What springs would you recommend for a mild drop, I drive it all year round and dont want to be too low? (I also have an S2000 that is slammed on BBS )

Ty

Hey, i have the APR DV and it works great. No problems at all.

If you want a mild drop i suggest you go with Eibach 1.25. Its slightly lower than the factory sport suspension.
