A different Kind of AC Problem

A different Kind of AC Problem
so i have one, it may sound like yet another AC Problem but I haven`t been able to get a solid answer on this and seems like there are also some others who have this un-resolved AC problem
I am going to dive right in so:
The Farthest line from the battery gets frost(high pressure line I believe) on it when the AC has been on for a while, but my car does something funny, Of the 4 vents in the dash, the most left ( driver side) throws cold car ( about 20 degrees Celsius) the middle 2 vents give me roughly 28-30 degree Celsius and far right ( passenger) gives about 25 degree Celsius. The temp settings are set to Low ( 18 degrees or lower) so seems like the left driver side vent is most accurate, I've searched and measured with a Temperate gun...but still nothing. The second fan works, AC has been topped off.
I also noticed 2 really funny behaviors with my AC,
1)when I turn the ECON light ON ( turn off the compressor) the RPM`s seem to drop a bit and seems like there is more load on the car...but rather when the ECON light is turned off, the RPM`s rise slightly again.........if I am not mistaken...it should be the other way around.
2) when the Econ light is on ( compressor OFF) the outside colder air seems to flow in nicely but when the Econ light is OFF and the compressor is off...its actually warmer air..despite the fact that the AC is actually on
I think my AC is just reallllly confused, please help I've looked though like 5 Pages of AZ and haven't found a solid solution, hope someone can help,
its a really sad day when its cooler outside than it is inside my car
I also realize we are almost though the summer and all,...but I would like to get this issue sorted out ..hopefully by the end of the summer
All help is appreciated, Thank you
sorry for the essay

1st thing 1st, you do get a bit of cold air, but only through one of the vent... Did you have your AC fluid checked? Enough in, and not too old?

Re: A different Kind of AC Problem
When the AC is on (ECONomy light off), the engine needs to run slightly faster to generate more electricity. So that's normal.

I am going thorugh the same issue and its going to the dealer. Will let you know of the results. I checked the gas in mine and it is still in there and compressed, either the compressor crapped out or the system is clogged. Check if your compressor is actually turning on.

Re: A different Kind of AC Problem
Sly North:
The Ac Fuilds were toped off earlier this summer, so assuming with no leaks, the problem continues
1 Move:
I guess pressure not being High enough could be an issue, I will double check the Ac fuilds + pressure + check for leaks later this week, soon as I get paid.
as for the compressor...well the secondary fan comes one, and the compressor is attached to the belt and the belt spins just fun and toggle in the econ light does turn the fan on and off but not entirely sure about the compressor. A couple of people has said to scan the car and see what comes up, but I don't have VAG- COM.
btw any luck with the dealership yet?

Re: A different Kind of AC Problem
The compressor got disconnected as they pressured washed my engine bay, I couldn't reach the cables so they fixed it for free on a hoist, plus the freon gas was not pressurized properly so that was a recharge and that cost $225

Re: A different Kind of AC Problem
Hi,
I have the same problem but other way round, I live in saudi arabia and weather is very hot so I need AC for cooling. Out of the 4 air ducts in front, left most is the coolest and it goes on decreasing as we move to the right and the right most is almost normal.
In the morning when the car is cold, everything seems to be working fine but as the car is heated up this problem starts.
I have checked the compressor and gas, its fine.
Any suggestions?

Re: A different Kind of AC Problem
Last time 1move was able to help me and guide me in the general direction, and s/he was of great help, and after having it checked out, I actually still have the problem, my temporary solution was just using windows for cooling, which was okay but now in the winter I am going to have actually have to have it looked at, some people on here have been saying that its the motors that control the flaps that cause this and that the mixing of the air is not working properly due to the flaps...and it sounds pretty accurate from my experience.
I am going to have my car looked at tomorrow, so I will report back asap
also, I don't know which side the drivers side is in Suadi Arabia, but..I am guessing its the same issue but on the opposite sides
we have our steering wheel on the left and we drive on the right.
