Default break noise?

So my cars been making a light screeching noise coming from the rear. I brought it into a shop to get new break pads, 2 new break hoses and got the rotors machined. However, it still makes that sound. I cant think of anything else that would make that noise. Just wondering if anyone can help me solve this little dilemna. Thnx.

well most new pads will screech at first for a little while, it is known as the break in period.

Is the sound the same as before you changed the brake pads?

pretty much. Although i just picked up EBC and those ceramic pads take a bit to break in. And actually known to give a bit of screeching.

In your case if they are regular, take it back to the shop and tell them that the pads screech ASAP before they doom it your fault. And now that i think of it, rear should screech, its not doing a whole lost of breaking. I say take it back quick and get it checked, its their job after all.

well I was waiting for a reply from you about how the noise sounded before and after the changeover. If it was exactly the same, could be a wheel bearing? that would be more of a whine then a screech though.

sorry about that bud, forgot about your question. Its the same noise as before i had the new components installed in tho. More of a screech than a whine.

Doubt its the problem but many pads require a proper "bed-in" process: Instructions for bedding in your brakes

BTW, its Brake not break

Good luck sorting this out !

Gimme a brake Steve!

Ya, give the shop a chance to sort it out. Hopefully you took it to a recommended Audi shop in the Edmonton area...?

So it turns out that the problem wasn't the car but me lol it hasn't gone to the shop just yet but I did decide to try the break in method that steve posted. Magneficent results, most or if not all the screeching has stopped. Still kinda hear it at times but that's when the second try comes into play. Ill let you guys know what the final results are.

And yeah I just caught that, seems like my fobness kicked in when I wrote the title aha
