I have an 2002 A4 3.0. I recently took the car out and my Check Engine light began blinking. The car also began to sound different and unusual in addition to bogging or lagging when I tried to accelerate.
Can anyone say anything regarding this issue?

Coilpack blew. Just go buy a coilpack around $40 from the dealership and then try to find out which one is misfiring with vag com or just replace one and see if the car still lags, if it does keep changing them until you find the bad one.

I don't recommend driving the car around like this and also you could have multiple coilpacks that are dead.

Check the codes. It sounds like what ramroda4 said above that it is a coilpack, not a boost leak because of the 3.0 but that can also screw with you on a turbo engine.

Cool thanks guys. Turned out to be a malfunctioning coilpack and old spark plugs. She's fixed and working again.

i Have had the same problem i have an A4 1.8T. the problem is one of two things. A) one of your coil packs is finished and or B) your having fuel pump problems.
