Default Basic APR chip advice…did my homework

My stock 2005 1.8T Quattro tip has currently a crazy low mileage (21,000 km or 13,000 mi), purchased last summer from my 75 years old neighbour…

Did my homework and considering APR Stage 1 to add that little Oomph that the factory missed
Not interested in any other APR software, neither doing any further mod like: Audi TT225 inj, exhaust…etc

I do realize that APR increases the turbo boost pressure. From the factory, turbo pressure at maximum acceleration is about twelve psi. APR ups this pressure by five psi. APR insists that the Audi engine can easily handle twenty psi.

Since the chip will produce more power yet it has to create more heat and my only concern is the consequence it will have on things like: Diverter valve, MAF, Turbo, O2 sensor… Since the chip will produce more power yet it has to create more heat from your motor

Any advice would be highly appreciated…

I have the APR stage I on my Audi, and the only other change I made was to replace the diverter valve with an APR R1 valve. No problems so far, knock on wood (!)

Wow, good score. You'll enjoy the software upgrade, the best noninvasive performance upgrade you can do. I chipped my wife's 2001 Jetta 1.8t many years ago (2001), and it's still going strong. I did put in a Forge diverter valve also.

When are you going to sell me that car?

Phinx404 (moderator) and Cory-Can have extensive experience and knowledge on the APR Chip. I will PM them and ask them to repond to this thread.

i've been running apr for close to 4 years now and not a problem at all.
Get better gas mileage actually so it pays for itself.
i also have a forge diverter valve.

As everyone says, it is a very safe upgrade. You should upgrade your dv to handle the higher boost, many people (myself included) like to use oem when possible, so I use the audi tt
dv (710n), but if you go heavy into mods later on, probably forge 007 is the way to go. With just stage 1, the extra heat will not be too bad. As always, let the turbo cool for a minute before shutting off engine after hard driving. You are gonna love the difference!

I have an 07 2.0t quattro and i had apr stage 1 then went to 2+ 6 months later. Stage 1 by itself was awesome! 45hp more and around 100tq more. and you can toggle it for stock, 91, 94, 100 as well lock it out so when it goes to the stealership you can put it in stock and lock it and they cant see its been done. i find since getting it done the car is so much more enjoyable to drive!!! only thing is i have a little bit of black smoke come out around the tips when i really gun it. im going to ask if there is an update since i got mine done that has tweaked the software, but with that being said i would do it all over again! love it!

Get apr stage1+!

Stage 1 will leave you wanting more and the difference from stock to stage 1+ is pretty significant.

You need a DV and injectors
