when you use cruise as soon as you hit the breaks the cruise shuts off,well if your break lights are solide on the break swicth is no good and it's tell the cruise to shut off, this would be why your cruise isn't working.

that was it, damn brake light switch!

i took it out, filed down the metallic contacts, lubed everything up, stuck it back in, and presto!
