b6 alt wipers available in vancouver??????
One other member expressed his frustration in having to always purchase dealer wipers. I have heard that the Michelin wipers available at Costco work really well, however, because of the rediculous clip system used by Audi no other wiper blades can be attached. The are many threads talking about Aero installs, but all appear to be US buys.
Does any Vancourite know whether something (non-Audi wiper system) is avail here in town?
Thanks guys!
Cheers,
nick

The Aero kit is good, first time is a buy from US with the proper brackets and the replacements can come from CND tire the next time. Also use "Silicone in a can" on the rubber portion of the current wiper baldes will last you longer. Make sure you wipe it down with alcohol first and then apply silicone in a can

Just bought an Aero kit from Capilano Audi. Taking the original arms off was a bit of a hassle. Took me over an hour probably. They do a great job though.

Well, it's stock for the b7 and b8, but not our b6. It's new arms and different clips. From what I understand the wiper blades are easier to come by, since we live in Van and have to replace our wipers it seems like every other month, i figured it was worth it. If you decide to get them, be care with removing the original arms, I broke a plastic piece inside. haha, I ended up fusing it back together using the heat from my stove. I was actually surprise how well it worked out.
To get the arms off, put your hand on the arm about 6 inches from the bolt holding it on (after you've taken off the bolt) and with one had push down and with your other, pull from closer to the bolt. There's pressure on the bolt and it doesn't want to come off. I spent a while trying to figure it out. PM me if you need further details. So far I'm very impressed with the quality of them. Hit me back if you need any help with it.

Re: b6 alt wipers available in vancouver??????
Hey Geego, I want to Cap to have a look and as you said in your recent note, in order for me (having a B6) to get into the Aero blades, I have to get different arms. For me the issue is then, how readily avail are blades for that set up? I will do so looking and see what the story is.
What I have done in the past is bought Bosch replacement inserts ($4 or 5) each and inserted them in the metal blade holder (having modified the metal brackets slightly .... you have to carfully bend them alittle to accept the blade inserts.
I will check around to see which manufacturers offer Aero blades that will fit the B7+ arms. Such arms run approx $55 each.
Cheers,
Nick

Yeah, you'd need new arms. I got the whole new deal, arms and blades. I honestly didnt look into it that closely about what replacement blades you need, but from what I did read, the Aero blades are easier to come by and are better. It is very possible that the new arms for the Aero kit can support different blades from just the Aero ones, but if you have found a way for the stock b6 arms to accept generic blades, just keep that setup. The kit is somewhat expensive, I got a deal, but it still isn't the cheap way of doing it. I bought this kit cause I tried to install generic blades from Canadian tire on my stock arms and it didnt fit. I couldn't figure out why (didn't know that Audi made specific blades) and ended up breaking the tab on the arm.

I've tried everywhere in Vancouver, Burnaby,Surrey, Richmond and searched online.
No other blades fit B6's OEM blade clip.
Not even those aftermarket's Audi C3-clip.
puchased a set of B6 wipers for under $40 bucks.
Well, it will last at least 6 monthes.

yes, I got OEM b6 wipers from Audi dealer for under $40 bucks a pair.
DIY install is quick,
just a quick note, when you pull the clip, dont use too much force, else it will break. I seen some ppl broke it on forum. I broke my too and had to replace the whole wiper arm which is another $50 bucks.
