OMG! I went to the MTO to get the UVIP, and the lady told me the color is GREEN.
I saw with my own eyes that the car is Charcoal greyish (metallic). I asked MTO if it could be a mistake, but she is trusting her systems.

Could that be? I pulled a Carfax and nothing seems to be out of the ordinary and car didn't look like it was repainted.

I have yet to go see the car again to get the color code. But the CEL light is still worrying me.
At first, the seller said it's a gas cap issue, then when I met with him, he said it's the O2 sensor. So which is it?

I backed out of this sale for now giving the seller an ultimatum to provide a complete diagnostics of the car from an audi dealership. If not, then no sale.

I'm buying the car as is as I would much rather do the certifications myself. Usually if the seller does it, they would put cheap parts in the car just to get past the certification part.

Look under the hood in the engine bay. If it was repainted and even the bay is grey then they may have rebuilt the car. In any case it sounds sketchy, I would get to the bottom of that before even considering the car.

As for the codes, the owner clearly has no idea what the code is for, they are just guessing. If they had a scanner they would not be guessing, so they simply dont know. You dont need to go to an audi dealer to get it scanned, any shop can do it for you, some for free. Or find a friend with a scanner.

also found out from MTO that the ownership belongs to someone else. I asked the seller for their relationship and how the owner is going to sign the paperwork, he just responded..."He lives very close to me". WTF??

Search continues for an avant...

Haha... stay away from that car, something is definitely up. Good luck in your search.

yes, definitely will. It's just making him look really bad right now since he's a real estate agent. I'm not saying they are all scammers, but hopefully this would teach him a lesson into telling the truth when selling things to potential buyers whether he'd be selling a house or a car.
I'm sure he's not hiding anything, but because he's dodging all questions and giving me the run around, just tells me he's not trust worthy.
If he told the truth from the beginning, this would have been a smooth sale.

Just out of curiousity what was his explanation for the different recorded paint color?

believe it or not, he said "that's the way it is". Then I responded, "red is red, blue is blue, gray cannot be green". Then he goes, "It's gray, and sometimes I see green with the sun on it". Another WTF!
