Audi A4 "right dipped headlight" problem, was Audi A4 "left dippedheadlight" problem
I posted the following message about a month ago:

I took my A4 to the dealer and two things were done:
- the code (presumably software version) for the light were checked
and it was correct
- the igniter was changed
And the result?
- the problem with the left headlight disappeared
- the same problem begins to occur on the right headlight !
Has anybody seen this weird problem? Can the left headlight circuitry
somehow interact with the right one?

Or did the shop simply swap the igniters?

Yes, I have the same problem on the left headlight and have found if I cycle the headlight switch the headlight will light up again and most times will remain on.
However it is extremely annoying and it is dangerous. I was going to take it in to the Dealer to have it addressed but wasn't sure just exactly what they would charge me for something like this. I understand if you need to replace the whole headlight assembly it is incredibly expensive.
I sure hope that I don't run into the same problem that you are experiencing. I believe that there may be some electrical gremlins in these vehicles that should not be there. I also have the airbag light go off and on when I am driving. This is quite disconcerting for my wife. I have had both Porsches and BMW's before and have never experienced these kinds of problems.
Overall I love the car but these gremlins are getting the better of me.

I have had the same problem since I bought my A4 2006 back in 2008. The left headlamp keeps "dipping" - it's embarrassing to have this problem on what is supposed to be a luxury car that I paid a premium price for. My friends who own inexpensive Japanese cars tease me about it. I"m guessing that it was these little annoyances that caused the original owner to trade it in. I've had it in the shop twice for it but to no avail.

I have had the exact same, annoying problem! I originally had it looked at by the dealership and they quoted me $1,000 ($300 for each headlight & $400 labour because the bumper has to be removed) I didn't go ahead at the time and its now been over 2 years where my headlights will flicker on and off. This must be some type of an electrical issue and not the bulbs, I don't know a whole lot about cars but if a bulb burns out, it burns out! They are inconsistent, sometimes not an issue and stay on, but mainly flicker and turn on and off. I've been using the trick of flicking the switch on and off to get by.
Has anyone got any ideas or updates with this problem? I love my car but this is making me think of trading it in. I don't want to pay $1,000 just to have the same problem exist!

When I took my car in for service, they found a service bulletin that said the lights were on a recall and they replaced both headlight assemblies for free. But they won't offer it, you have to let them know that you know about it.
