Congratulations!. Just a bit of advice regarding your car. Don't follow the manual and change the oil every 10,000K's. Do it around 5,000ks. Enjoy.....

yeah I will do an oil change tomorow because I go at Chitoucimi city next weekend.. but I dont think that I will use synthetic oil, I'll surely use Mobil 1 0w40 and change my oil at 5000km... Do you use synthetic??

hehe and for my first mod I dont know.. Do you have a sugjestion..I did not buy this car for performance but It can be fun to know the best mod for the 3.0.. I have an exhaust with nice sound but its all..

I'm wondering why my mechanic says it's a waste to change the oil every 5k on this car( using ams oil). He's telling my 10-15k is good & that I'm just wasting my $$. Even in europe most people I know change oil @ 10-15k & that's just using reg oil. I'm also using a german oil filter that states on the filer it's good for 30k!! I still change the oil & filter ever 5-7k for piece of mind but I think soon I might be streaching it every 10k.

I'm starting to think this change your oil every 5k or 3 months is just propaganda from the oil companies trying to get more money from us.

i mean its good to change it every so often to stay clear of sludge build up in your engine. Think of the pure yellow colour oil you put into your engine, and out comes dark oil from your oil pan when emptying it out.

5k-8k is alright for us because we are in north America. the oil we use do not compare to European oil there. different quality, different chemicals substances used there and far better quality than here hands down. Plus, if u got a 1.8t, you got a turbo to look after, because it eats oil for one, and the temperature that our engine creates at extremely much higher than that of an Japanese engine.

I recieved the diagnosis on my car yesturday about the vibration. Not good. Flywheel is falling apart and it needs a new clutch. They want $1100 for the flywheel and it has to come from the states which will take 4 days to get here. Overall they want $3100 for the repair. They do not recomend drving the car until it is fixed because if the flywheel comes apart it could wreck the tranny. The car is staying at the dealer until I can find some cheaper parts or labour.
