A4 vs sti

Re: A4 vs sti
Thanks for the advice move1 and long time no see^^
I got my exhaust coming next week and soonner or later, i will get fmic and some other stuff in order.
However, will this BT setup reliable? even if I change the internals?
and do you suggest any site to get parts for resonable price?, cuz money saving is the most important criteria in this project
Thanks again

Re: A4 vs sti
get this kit:
B6 1.8T GT2871R Eliminator Hardware Kit: CTS Turbo
with the injectors and inlet pipe for $2000
then get a FMIC for $800, exhaust for $1000 and software for $750
should be able to keep up... maybe
that way you can keep all your stock internals and probably not have to deal with all the problems that would arise with a larger turbo. this setup has been proven multiple times to be reliable
EDIT: i see you already have ordered an exhaust so you're on your way

"Upgraded fueling kit and 3" Inlet Pipe Kit are recommended to compliment this hardware kit."
I am not a big fan of Eliminator kits, but to each their own.

Re: A4 vs sti
Yeah, I spoke to CTS guys about this and I was thinking more like gt3071 or 6s...
However, bryan told me there will be problems even if I change the internals and do it right.
That scares me right now and I was also looking at that gtrs or 2871r kit.
I know I have to spend more than 6~7 grand to make at least 300awhp and I am still trying to figure out what's best for me.
And!!! the catback we bought from magnaflow is 2.5" or 2.25", which can be very restrict and is it possible to make it larger all the way? or -_- do I have to stuck with that one or sell that catback if I were to choose to go with BT setup. I think i need 3" pipe catback. correct me if im wrong, because I've experienced with this problem when I was working on my type r del sol, which I am selling it now.

Re: A4 vs sti
yeah to get flow from the turbo you're going to want a 3" exhaust.
and 1move i did include the inlet pipe in the cost, but not the fuel pump because many people are running that setup without the upgraded fuel pump just fine.

I know injectors go around 300 max, but inlet pipe?
what is inlet pipe and what does it do?
is this something like a downpipe?

Re: A4 vs sti
well you don't necessarily have to get that exact inlet pipe, APR and forge make good ones too, but the stock one is likely going to collapse under the higher boost of an upgraded turbo.
and i don't know if it's in US or CA dollars... the company is based in vancouver though...

Re: A4 vs sti
u cannot compare an a4 to an sti... the freaken category is on differnet levels. if u want to beat a sti, i suggest u get a race car or a supercar. a4 are luxury sedan that aren't built for speed.
