Already have an A4, trying to move to an S4. Drive an S4 than let me know what you think

in 2001 bought a 1997 S6, but 3 years later downgraded, cuz the car was just asking to be pushed and driven hard hehehe (it is an amazing car and i left it to my brother) Now I have a 2000 A4, but since Im a bit older (smarter, i hope), Im saving money for RS4

i just got my 2004 s4 cab last christmas, it's more than just great. BUT, this is my second car, so gas is not my concern. If you plan to drive it daily, you pay at least 20-30% more for gas (i guess). Honestly, if you already thinking about switching, which means $ is not a big issue, so I say go for it. Take your time and search around.

When I bought my S4 cab, i was not really planning for it. But once I saw the red leather interior, I wanna get it. At the same time, I checked out couple M3 cab, same price same year, but I found zero s4 cab out there except the one I was looking at. But I guess there should be quite a bit of sedan or avant out there.

I am getting an RS4 but the trouble is for now my A4 is fastish..... but I feel like the car is held back vs the S4. And I love the sound of those engines, also if I got an S4 I would do most of the work myself, I am pretty knowledgeable around the audi's and I have a friend who has been an Audi mechanic for almost 8 years now. So not very many problems would happen to get into our way, only when it comes to lifting up the car on a high jack.

Who cares about the Gas milege ans service charges.. A S4 in a S4.. Sweet ride. Plus if you are planning on getting an RS4 in a few years, then i think cash isnt your problem.

SECONDLY.. I AGREE... CARS SHOULD BE FUN & SENSIBLE..
NO SENSE OWNING A CAR, UR NOT GONA ENJOY DRIVING.
THIRD.. ALL CHARGES WILL BE HIGHER.. BUT THEN AGAIN, LET'S LOOK AT THE DIFFERNCE IN COST FOR BOTH OF THE VEHICLES.. A4 1.8T = $40K, S4, $70K
THATZ THE BOTTOM LINE... IF U CAN AFFORD IT... GO FOR IT.

Made the switch from '03 A4 1.8T to '05 S4. Absolutely stunning. The engine is worth the admission price alone, let alone the handling, recaros, etc... oh, and that exhaust noise at WOT - music to the ears of any petrol-head. Having said all that, the extra gas cost did catch me a bit by surprise, I spend about $60 every 4-5 days (Ultra 94). The car would benefit from being higher-geared in cog 6. At typical hwy speeds, the engine is "buzzing" all the time. It's an exciting noise but if you just want to take a leisurely cruise, it gets a bit tedious. The slightest brush of the throttle and the car just lurches forward, my wife assimilates it to a mad dog straining at the leash......
You won't regret the change and I think it absolutely makes sense to do an intermediate step to S4 before stepping up to the RS4. If for some reason you can't live with the stock S4, then you probably won't want the S4 on steroids, as I like to call the RS4!

Just went from a BT A4 (B6) to my S4. Aside from the gas tank being on the small side the car is considerably better in all areas. The seats alone make it worthwhile ... Look for one in the US ... Mine had 11k on it and was $42k

I would say thats a conservative estimate, obviously depending on how you drive. I live in a hilly area and have a tendency to drive fast. I do about 170-210mpg on a tank ..freeway driving at 65-75 mph, you can get 290-310 out of it if your sensible.. put it this way if you want economy, an V8 isn't really it..
