2002 a4 - when to surrender
i have a 2002 a4 with 243000k on it
it needs a heater core, and has an engine coolant leak, back doors do not lock and a small hole in the flex clamp in the exhaust
i am thinking enough is enough ...........and time to move on to a newer car..maybe another a4
any words of wisdom?

Sounds to me that its time. Obviously budget will determine what you'll do but may I suggest you take a newer one for a drive? B6's were nice but IMO B7's and B8's are better driving vehicles ...

i say it's time as well. The repair bills will just keep on growing when it gets that old. Heck my 97 only has 145k on it and it's already a pain to keep.

hey dave. haha nice someone from the markham area. uhm i do most of the services near by hwy7 and mccowan.
i just keep track what my car needs and do it early and never late. that way i can ensure that my car is taken care of. simple things like change oil at 5k, never rip the engine apart from light to light, clean the gutter for craaap. take out some of the parts in the engine and hand clean it myself. =)
and most of all my baby loves car wash/wax days.
pm if u want to know which shops i go to. pretty decent prices as well.

I've seen people with 2000 A4/S4 still going strong. So it's up to you. If you're tired of this, then maybe it's time to put her down and get a brand new A4.

There is no reason why you should be thinking of replacing your car. Fix it and keep it going. There are plenty of older car with a lot more kms in them that are still running strong.

We're talking about a 2002 A4 though.. wasn't that the worst year ever? Even the manager where I bought my A4 told me that he was ashamed of that year
