While driving today I tried opening my drivers side window and it made an interesting (and frightening) clunk noise and got stuck about 4/5 of the way down. I proceeded to close the window again, and would get part way up and stop, roll itself down again, stop and wind up a little. I managed to get it all the way up and sealed, bu am afraid to roll it down again in case it gets jammed open.
Any thoughts? Is the motor on the blink? Something jammed inside? Control arm or winding mechanism busted?
As well, my sunroof has been acting oddly recently. It has a tendency to close itself from the tilt position, and today when I opened it fully (due to the window being iffy) it opened fully, then closed about 2 inches, then opened again...
Will doing the sunroof reset trick fix the issue?
Any help would be much appreciated.

window: the regulator is on its way out, unless u hit something with your door.

sunroof: it is a common problem, unless its making a cracking sound (happened to me and had to replace the entire system for the sunroof) then its just the metal in your **** that gets very touchy to the sensory to automatically move it down which you can use the sunroof modification u were talking about or looking it up at a4mods.com

I'm taking my car in to Open Road Audi for the coil pack check, and I will have a tech look into the window thing.

just make sure you have a warranty to look at the sunroof. if you are under pre-owned warranty they will charge 100 bucks for the diagnostics.
