What a difference Wheels & Suspension Make...

6 Attachment(s)
Here is my car before and after H&R Sport springs (1.7") and some 18x8 RS4 reps on 235 40 18 rubber. With nothing else changed it looks like a whole different car.

Yeah I know paint the lowers blah blah. I don't really think I want to because I don't really care that much lol...

Here are some pics for fun. Hopefully we don't get one more massive snow hahaha.

where'd you snag your springs?

I have the same rims but I have the stock non-sport suspension & my car looks like a dune-buggy.

Installed yourself?

Looks great!

Are those newer S4 Rims or aftermarket?
edit: I was so busy liking the pics, I missed the RS4 rep text part :)

What offset and are you running spacers?

I would have to say that wheels are the most noticeable and fulfilling mods you can do. The car looks great. What offset are those wheels by the way?

Holy crap! That looks 1000% better!

BEAUTIFUL wheels and suspension mods! I am totally in love with RS4 reps so I am a little biased, but WOW those wheels SO work with that car and colour!

Congratulations! Great choices! Enjoy the ride!

looks amazing. btw, how's the ride quality with oem non-sport shocks? i'm guessing you may need new shocks in a year.

The whole setup was about $2000 bux. I bought the rims at Wheels Direct is scarborough and the springs from a place in BC. The springs can be had on ebay for really cheap as well.

The ride on the springs is really good, but the shocks seems a bit bouncy. The car is lowered 1.75 inches so the shocks will have a tougher time keeping up with the new ride height. Overall the ride is very acceptable, comfortable and does not bang when you go over pot holes etc. My previous jetta was lowered 1.5 inches on the stock shocks for about 3 years and never had any problems so I would suspect that this may be the same way. Either way, changing the shocks is a pretty easy job so when they go, it's a simple swap out in the rear, and the front is a bit more work, but not too bad.

The wheels are usually sold with a +42et but I ordered them specifically with a +35et to bulge them out a bit. Most places that I saw who sold them offered only the 42et but a few also did the 35 so I wanted to be sure to get the 35. That extra 7mm makes all the difference looks wise.

That's what I was trying to find out. 35et offsets look perfect on our cars.
