Default Transmission fluid

To change or not to change?
That is the question...

Good question

I know that coolant should be changed every 5 years even though Audi says its lifetime.

I too would like to know the answer to this question

Personally I would change. Don't flush though, that only clogs your filter. If you are to do it you have to buy the whole kit: Filter, fluid, and pan gasket. The kits are available from Blauparts for about $112US I think. And they come with a fluid pump that is useful if you don't have one.

You can do it yourself but know that you will replace approx 2/3 of the fluid.

For a full flush to replace all the fluid, hate to say it but if dealer or trans shop has proper (aka expensive) flush equipment they can replace all the fluid.

Suggest replace every 100K KMs if your into long term ownership.

Yah, I agree if you are willing to spend the money, taking it to the dealer and getting the full flush AND filter replacement is the best way to go. Just don't settle for the flush alone!
