Default Transmission

Hi,

I have a 2004 A4 1.8T auto tiptronic

It's at the AUDI dealer in their service shop...Audi is saying that it needs a new transmission because the engine light is on and there are 2 error codes that are appearing when scanned. A new transmission is $6000.00! They said Audi does not fix transmissions!

One of the errors is the "Output Speed Sensor"...this is causing the car to not accelerate once in a while...it shakes for a few seconds and then is fine...it could be sitting at idle or driving on the highway and the rpm needle will drop.

I don't want to spend 6 thousand dollars if it can be fixed or if i can get a used transmission.

Any thoughts?

Hi roger,

I believe we met at AoM. You should contact another source for a 2nd opinion. I would contact Bryan at Independent Tuning and see what he has to say. home - independent tuning | Audi Specialists

Good luck!
