TCM Location A4 2004
Hi guy's I've a TCM issue... got the tcm checked for errors and found P0706 error, Transmission grade sensor... The question I have is... where is the TCM unit located, I've being told its in the battery compartment somewhere...? I've also being told by Audi they want €1300 about $1800 to replace the TCM, but I can get one in Ireland for 700 new. What are your thoughts

TCM is on the opposite side of the compartment that the battery is contained in (On the right if your standing in front of the car). Underneath the Engine Control Module.

Ah now thats not the case with my 2004 A4, its located in the transmittion, which means that the gearbox needs to be droped to get to the TCM which takes an average audi mechanic 4 hours to get to!
