red pull tab at right rear taillight screw

I am just wondering what the red pull tab is for, located inside the popout for the right taillight screw access. I pulled it because I'm I guy and thats what we do, so now I'd like to know what I actually did by pulling it. thanks!

I'm also curious as to what's that for?

I'll take some pics tonight, but if you just pop off the screw cover in the trunk liner on the passenger side taillight you'll see it

well apparently it is the emergency gas door opener, so that if the power lock on the gas door fails then you can still get the door open. So as long as the power lock on the gas door works, the pull tab does nothing (in theory).

that being said, I had no idea the gas door had a power lock on it, I guess I've never tried to fill up with the doors locked, this might be something to add to the tips and tricks sticky if its not there already.

Yea, when the car is locked a little rod slides in and locks the gas door. I didn't know there was a pull tab backup though.
