Have an 03 A4 and the rear light is out. I am fairly mechanical but getting the light unit out to change the bulb is escaping me. Got the little fabric plug out and phillips screw but no go. What am I missing?

 

you should be able to just pull the light out carefully. It's held in my 2 little plugs just kinda wiggle it and pull and the whole piece should come out

By the way for anyone else...another post here mentioned Googling the part. I went on a parts website and got a blowup of the front and back of the light. It was exactly what I needed to see to pull the unit out.
