Putting in an new shift knob in B6
Hi all,
I have a '02 B6 5M. I want to replace the OE shift knob beacuse it has a sharp knick in the topcap, and its really bothering me. I wanted to get the basic aluminum MOMO "race" replacement knob, but after taking apart the shifter assembly, taking the ring clamp off and inspecting the shift knob, it looks like the shift boot and shift knob are together as one unit. Is there any way of using the OE shift boot and a new knob? I've seen some "complete" assemblies (new boot and knob attached), but I dont want to spend the $200 for just shift knob replacement. any suggestions? cheers, Brian |

Just came across something called the "Perfect fit" MOMO knobs for Audi/VW MK4 on concept1.ca website...is this the solution to my problem? it doesnt say much in the description.

Re: Putting in an new shift knob in B6
Unfortunately, I do have the TT's high-tech looking CV-boot style shift boot haha...The leather one on the B6 is "tucked" into the shift knob so i cant just unscrew the sphere part.
I'll give concept1 a ring when i have a chance sometime... thanks again. |
