Default New Audi member..hopefully

Hello everyone, first post..
Could be joining the world of Audi soon. I am currently dealing on a 2003 A4, 3.0L and am in the information gathering mode. In the short time I have been on this site I have heard different members mention "Carfax" reports. What does this tell you? Is this something I should be getting prior to buying As I do not have access to this, is there anyone out there that can help me obtain a Carfax report? Hope I am not out of line asking this, if so, just ignore. Thanks in advance.

Ya i would recomend getting a carfax. Generaly a dealership can and will get this for you. It gives a break down of the cars history. If the milage has been tampered, any accidents and so on. You can go to the carfax website and with a credit card getthe report yourself, you will just need the VIN number to the car. good luck and hopefully you get the car!!!

Thanks sonic, I will check it out. I am going to see the car today. Trying not to let my excitement fog my judgment ...

another good advice is spend the extra $150 or so to get it inspected by professional Audi mechanic. Make sure if there is anything wrong with the car, and get a price estimate on the repair. You could actually use those numbers to haggle the price down a bit too.
Good luck.

Even if all s/he finds is minor stuff, a pro inspection should more than pay for itself in bargaining power at the dealership.
