Low compression results

Hello so a buddy of mine did a compression test on my car today and the results were really bad
Cyl. 1 = 100
Cyl. 2 = 100
Cyl. 3 = 95
Cyl. 4 = 80
The car runs was ideling a lil rough thats the reason we did the test because everything has been changed( coils sparks etc. ) i had 3 codes when we scanned the car.
Code1= cylinder 1 missfire
Code2= cylinder 4 missfire
Code3= multiple cylinder missfire
Honestly i dont know what to do know. The codes went away ( i didnt erase them)
I use 5w 40 syn. Oil all the time change it at 4k
The. Car still pulls hard and strong it doesnt feel like its lost power just idels rough from time to time.
Any ideas or help would be very much apreciated and thanks in advance
Ps the only mods the car has are apr stage 1 and apr carbonio intake
Thanks Roger

Re: Low compression results

I hate to tell you this, but if those numbers are correct, i.e., the compression test was done properly, your car isn't pulling hard or strong :(

Your engine needs one or more of the following:

- New piston rings
- New engine block
- Valve job on the head
- New head gasket

It's very unlikely that it's the simple option (the headgasket) given your uniformly low numbers. Start by doing a leak down test to further determine the cause. If you can't do any of the labour yourself, it's often cheaper to just buy a used engine and swap it in, or sell the car to someone who can fix it.

Thanks for the reply but turned out that something was wrong with the gauge. I retested the car today with a difrent gauge and all cylinders read 170 wich is normal. Misfiring was being caused by a bad ground.

Re: Low compression results

Great to hear! All signs pointed to disaster with the misfires occurring as well, but I suggested the further testing just because of coincidences like these. 170psi = good to go :cheers:
