Looking for an A4 Avant
 

Hi Everyone,

I've had a 2003 VW Gti 1.8t for the past 5 years, and we've out grown it. Now I'm looking for something bigger. I don't know much about the A4s, but I do know I like them :)

Anyways, I'm looking for a used avant quattro (2002-newer). I'm trying to stay under $20,000.

Are there any particular years/models/engines that I should be staying away from? What are some of the things I should be looking for?

I've got an 03 that's been pretty much bullet proof. Just hit 75k and I'm up on my first real servicing, T Belt, brakes, as well as the Camshaft adjuster gasket, and valve cover gasket. I assume that you'll be familiar with all this having the 1.8 in your gti, but if not, be prepared for it.

You should easily be under the 20k mark, sounds like your looking for a B6 model, 03 saw the introduction of stability control, which if you do any driving in the snow is an amazing system, and 04 gets you the 6 speed manual....

I am looking for a B6, would like a B7, but I imagine that would be too expensive for me.

I should have mentioned that I'm on the west coast, so I'd like one out here, not much salt used on the roads here, and no shipping costs :)

I'm going to look at a 2002 B6 Avant Quattro tomorrow with sport package, aftermarket 18s (also comes with stock wheels) and an APR chip (which I'm not convinced is a good thing). I've got to import it from the states if I decide to go with that one, however, the price allows for the costs.
