I'm new to AUDI, I've got few questions...
I think in your case (if you don't want to lower the car) I would go with 17's...won't look as bad and 4x4 even on stock suspension and mitigates the risk of bending wheels and other damage from potholes.
As for the slowness, thats pretty par for the course. The car is a great winter and luxury car but isn't a track star by any stretch. You can fix that with getting a chip and upgrading the turbo if you'd like but i'm not sure how much modding you're wanting to do.
Lastly, welcome to the forums!

Would you consider lowering to say sport suspension height?
I just cant believe you would want to stick with the base suspension it looks like a 4x4 truck!
I would sacrifice comfortable ride comfort for looks any day and lower suspension doesnt mean the ride will be bad, I mean were not talking slamming it to the ground.

Thanks for all your help but it turns out I brought the car back to the dealer this morning. I had it inspected and the transmission was about to die. I'm told that the automatic CVT transmission on the 1.8T isn't very reliable to begin with, and can cost up to 8000$ to replace!!!!
So since my GF insists on an automatic it's going to be a Quattro or I'm gonna go back to BMW...

edit: oops just saw he returned it... next time I'll read all the way through!
