Default HID fog lights?

I just bought the helex devil eye headlights and the LED is very nice and bright, but now my stock fog lights look very yellow compared to the LED. Is there any way to get super white fog light bulbs without upgrading to HID. Ive heard that if I put a bulb that is to bright in my OEM foglight it could fry the wires.

Any help would be very apperciated

I've read some using "white" bulbs in their fogs.....not HID but matches in color.

I think you roll the dice with any non-OEM bulb that is rated higher or claims to be brighter than stock. If they are brighter, chances are they are hotter. That being said, I have had PIAA bulbs in all my cars for the last 10 years. I currently have PIAA bulbs in the log lamps of my TTS and my Q5. I went contrast with Plasma Yellow instead of trying to match.

If I change my fog lights to HID then I would have to do my headlights as well eh? Does that mean 2 HID kits?
I'll take a picture and put it up tonight (have to wait until its dark)
Thanks for the info so far guys!
Cheers,

I think the concern most people have with upgrading the bulbs in fog lamps in particular is the confined space for such hot bulbs. Keep in mind that HID bulbs burn pretty hot as well. The kits also have a few components (igniter and ballast for each light) that you will have to find a spot for as well. Why no try an LED bulb? PIAA makes an H11 LED bulb that should match the LED DRL in your aftermarket headlamps. (If you are going for colour match more than you are light output.)

Why would you have to do your headlights as well? Just to match your fog lights if you upgraded them to HID?

Before messing up the lighting of the audi and doing something stupid with it just for the sake of looks, please do some reading:

Good (and legal) fog lamps produce white or Selective Yellow light, and use tungsten-halogen bulbs. Xenon or HID bulbs are inherently unsuitable for use in fog lamps, and blue or other-colored lights are also the wrong choice.

Good Link....however, I don't feel that anybody on this Forum would change thier fog lights for "safety"
With that said, I just changed my Fogs on my 04 A4. I was going to go with PIAAs but there was another brand called "Euro Light" (H11) available at Performance Imporvements. I did some research and these lights were up there. So I bought a pair and I love them. No, they don't match my HIDs, however, I didn't want them do. I use them as my DRLs, and they look great during the day

Sure, but rendering the foglights useless just so they match the LEDs could mean trouble on a really foggy day..

Hey Brad,

Which ones did you buy? I am "watching" a couple of sets myself. I currently have the plasma yellow PIAA's but your thread got me digging around and thinking about matching the LED DRL on my cars as well. I'd like to see pics of yours when you get them installed as well.
