Exclamation hey audi fiends need help pleaseeeee

Yo found out i'm paying 600 for timing belt tensioners and water pump for 600 american. (half price) should be 1200. the dealership I got the car from paid for both cat converters and CAm seal oil leak since I drive a 3.0 a4 so does this sound good? They are already in my shat . meaning engine compartment . is this work nessesary? I have a buddy that works at the audi dealership that could prolly hook me up for same deal later on at 90,000 miles . I have 80,700 miles on my 3.0 a4. Could I get 10k more miles out of original belt? or is it a good call I'm get it paid for at half the price now?

Are you saying the savings is $600? Although I know nothing about the 3.slow, I'd probably go with the savings assuming you're keeping the car ... its so easy to spend some else's money

100k mi ought to be okay on the 3.0, that's unless you'll be taking another year to make that distance...

Yeah I live in downtown Chattanooga so I do not drive a whole lot but now I have this great car instead of a 97 land rover discovery so I might drive more. It would take awhile for me to drive 20k more miles. So go ahead and get timing belt done for 600? You guys are awesome thanks a shat ton.

In my books timing belt has both a mileage limit as well as a time limit: it's made of rubber afterall, and rubber cracks after some time. I'd be comfortable with 6 years or 100k miles, whichever comes first.

By the way, it's common practice to change the water pump while changing the T-belt: while the pump tends to last longer than the belt, it tends not to last the duration of 2 T-belts, so it's generally a good idea to change that too while the belt is out.

Sweet deal that what they are doing. Should I have them change 02 sensors too by this I mean the dealership which has me under 30 day warranty (not the audi dealership the car is in now) Thanks a ton

I don't see why not if they'd agree to the work
