Gas mileage????

Hey hey,

Just wanted to see how many km people are getting on their Audi's.... I have a 04 A4 1.8t and get approx 430km on a tank city driving with very little hwy, is that good? I was thinking I would hit 500km or is that too much? I put premium gas.

I'll make everyone here feel better about their mileage. On a full tank of gas I don't even get 400Km out of my 3.0 A4.

I did this on a road trip. Averaging 38mpg imperial, which is 31.6mpg metric. I was pretty proud of the old girl :D

With 75% highway & 25% city I average about 16 L/100K
4.2L - V8 - 6 Speed

2004 A4 1.8tq with 6 speed manual... 520 kms to a tank mixed driving. I could probably get more if I wanted to but I enjoy the right pedal too much... even more now that I have the APR Stage 1+ installed! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

I just changed my air filter and i have noticed an immediate improvement in my fuel economy.
i guess my old air filter was very clogged

Ok i got most of you guys beat!!!!!

04 B6 1.8T Multitronic

easy mixed driving(highway & city, 700-800km a tank easy

highway and long trips, gotten 975km out of full tank of 93 octane premium, 91 octane gets me about 900-950km going 120kmh and with 3 other passengers and the trunk full of stuff mind you!!

so far no matter how hard ive driven, usually never got less that 650km a tank!

one time i had lots of adrenaline, drove 200kmh+ a few times on that tank and did a lot of passing, pretty much just showing everybody my cars big rear end and still i did about 10-11 l/100kmh, or something like 20-25mpg!

Hello All,

Great topic haha.. everyones watching the km as the gas prices go up eh? I have a 03' A4 1.8T and I get over 700 easy using 91 octane on regular basis... mixed city and highway.. I have on occasion gotten steady 810 per tank... are all the gas tanks the same size? that might be a factor? I have a 63L i believe..

Sweet Secret of European drivers (Gas is $3.00 per liter) Add 5ml of acetone to your gas tank.
Improvement is at 5 to 10%. You may think that your wife is travelling with you and doing her nails thou because you can smell it.

Complete vaporization of fuel is far from perfect in today's cars and trucks. A certain amount of residual fuel in most engines remains liquid in the hot chamber. In order to be fully combusted, the fuel must be fully vaporized.

Surface tension presents an obstacle to vaporization. For instance the energy barrier from surface tension can sometimes force water to reach 300 degrees Fahrenheit before it vaporizes. Similarly with gasoline.

Acetone drastically reduces the surface tension. Most fuel molecules are sluggish with respect to their natural frequency. Acetone has an inherent molecular vibration that "stirs up" the fuel molecules, to break the surface tension. This results in a more complete vaporization with other factors remaining the same. More complete vaporization means less wasted fuel, hence the increased gas mileage from the increased thermal efficiency.

That excess fuel was formerly wasted past the rings or sent out the tailpipe but when mixed with acetone it gets burned, though the engine still thinks it is running straight gas.

Acetone allows gasoline to behave more like the ideal automotive fuel which is PROPANE. The degree of improved mileage depends on how much unburned fuel you are presently wasting. You might gain 15 to 35-percent better economy from the use of acetone. Sometimes even more.

How Much to Use

Add in tiny amounts from about one part per 5000 to one part per 3000, depending on the vehicle -- just a few ounces per ten gallons of gas. This comes to between 0.0003 % to 0.0025 % acetone maximum or approximately 1/15th of one-percent. Note that is around .78 cc per liter or one ounce per 10 gallons. Not more than three oz. per 10 gallons

2nd Secret of European drivers: this actually doesn't seem to be true

Funny part:

The effect of acetone on fuel economy was addressed on the popular American TV show MythBusters in 2006, in which they observed a decrease on fuel economy.

Re: Gas mileage????

Nop, not all gas tank are the same size.

I got 55L on my 01 TT and the same on my 06 S4...

I can get 700km out of the TT on the highway. I am on a trip now to the Magdelen Islands and i got a steady 8,0 L/100km at 120 km/hr.

With the S4 it's harder to keep 120 km/hr. So easy to step on it... but if i do, i can get 500km to a tank with 10,5 L/100 km.
