flashing gear shift indicator - A4 1.8t 2005
 
Recently, my gear shift indicator/display start flashing. Any suggestion how I can stop the flashing... Thanks

Thought that was an indicator of a transmission malfunction; will need to use VCDS to see if there are any transmission module error codes.

Drive the car for about 25 to 30 miles on the highway, then pull over and stop. Put the car in park and set the brake and open the drivers door and wait for 2 minutes. If it isn't anything too serious it will reset for a short while. I have had to do this several times on my stupid cv(evil)t
