Engine choking Malfunction indicator lamp blinking
Hi,
My Audi A4 2005 1.8T engine started to choke suddenly! Its still running, but I can feel the engine shaking and wanting to stop. There is also no more power to the car. The Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) is blinking.
1 week ago, I changed oil and oil filter and I cleaned the engine making sure not to put water on the electric plugs. I rode with it over 500km since and everything seems perfect!
Does this problem happened to someone?
Anyone can help me with that?
If I can fix it myself, it would be great!
Thanks for the help!

I think you are right! I did some investigation by removing one coil at a time while the engine is on and see the reaction. Only one coil didn't make any difference and for the others, the engine almost turn off.
Then I swapped the "defective" coil with another and did the same thing to confirm that it is the one defect!
So now it's Saturday, and I can't find any coil pack until Monday...that's gonna be a great weekend
When I replace it on Monday, I will confirm if this was really the problem!
Thanks for the tip.
Peace!

the coilpak is the piece that connects to your sparkplug. Its the distributor as we dont have 1 central one, we have one on each plug.
It was the coilpacks. I end up changing the 4 of them and all of the sparkplug since I was there!
It really shows that coilpacks were overused compared to the new ones. The hole that goes into the sparkplug was way bigger then the new one!
Next step is to change my turbo filter!!!
Thank you very much for your help!
