You get the cable, I can remote connect to your laptop and do it for you! It is fairly simple but I would not even bother with the ebay cables!!! a friend of mine bought 3 already and none of them work, but then again there are success stories I went out and got the original cable for nearly $400 but havent regreted it yet! go to ross-tech.com even on here guys sell it in the classifieds and if I come accross one I can let you know. There is also a local manufacturer here, I can purchese it for you and send it but there is also these guys so you dont have to pay duty. Good luck with your decision

I bought my car in texas and imported it to canada and I made the mistake of taking it to the dealer so it ended up costing me somewhere around $300 to 350 to activate the daytime running lights and change the mileage into km's

 

$350 would buy VAG-COM and leave enough change for beer!

 

yah haha at the time I didnt know that and I really just wanted to get the car on the road because I couldn't insure it until I got the lights done so then I was happy to put out the $350!

yep haha but apprently once you hit 2005.5 even the US cars have daytime running lights so I missed it by half a year lol

Has anyone had success with the cheap ($15) cables on ebay?

Is there anyone on the west coast (Lower Mainland British Columbia) that could either do this for cheap or rent me their VAG-COM cables?
