I own a 1.8TQ and when i first got it, I loved this feature, but for the past few months its been always fluctuating...when i first got it...i was able to maintain it at 6.2L/100km once I have been driving on the highway for a few mins. Now, it starts at approximately at 3.9L/100km and works it way up to about 8.9L/100km and then goes back to 3.9

its goes up by about .2 to .4 every 2 seconds. How do I fix this feature. And by the way, the feature where it shows how many more kilometers are left until I run empty works great.

I love the fuel economy feature and would love to know if anyone else has had this problem and how they fixed it

are you sure before you werent using the average L/100km seems like its fluctuating because its on the instantaneous L/100km not average.

 

i'm 100% sure that I had it on the instantaneous because i noticed there was average there also when i first got the car...

also shouldn't the instantaneous even out after driving on cruise for in the same speed for like 15 mins?

Are you driving on a starightaway with no hills what so ever? It is instantanious so it usually will never be constantly the same, unless you are in Saskachewan

 

Yes every time you go up a hill that gas consumption will shoot up silly!

 

Gear changes will have similar effect too!

but i think i fixed it by doing a fuel throttle alignment

its posed as a sticky from 1move

its much more stable now...just like when i first got it...

that seems like really great fuel economy. I get 10.6 /100 on average, with about 70% city driving and 30% highway driving.

anyone else? have any input?

 

The L/100km gives you the consumption over the last 30meters. So yes it goes up and down, except when you use cruise control on a flat road.

If you do an average of 3.5L for longer periods with a 1.8TQ contact me and tell me the trick
Or just contact a mechanic to repair your fuel sensor.

ps: I do 7,5L/100km on the highway and normaly to work (15km) +/- 10L/100km with the A4 1.8TQ

 

for me i get about ~6.2L/100KM on the highway...on city roads...not sure

but i do about 65% highway and 35% city

and my overall average is 6.7L/100KM
