Catalytic Converter issue
Hi Guys
Got a problem with some noobish like questions. I have to change my catalytic converter as it is toast. I was considering a test pipe but I was told I would need software to compensate for the computer diagnostic error code it would make (i did not think so). So I am now just thinking of replacing or finding an OEM one and doing the repair. Question 1. Is that right for the test pipe? Do you need some software upgrade to accommodate it? 2. For the OEM cat, where can I grab one. My buddy had his and just threw it out :( - Maybe someone knows other members that have one? 3. What would you do? test pipe or oem I want to keep the car for another year. Otherwise it drives great, with a few electrical gremlins, but nothing serious. Thanks S 2004 1.8T 6sp Ultrasport APR1+ |
Re: Catalytic Converter issue
Can you pass an e-test without the cat? Depending on price, I would probably go OEM. What is the price of the cats?

Re: Catalytic Converter issue
I think that is a negative on the etest...so you would have to swap it out.
I am getting pricing of around 350 for the oem part |
Re: Catalytic Converter issue
I have a used oem cat if you want. I changed it because I needed a bigger cat.
