Can I fit a 245.40.18 tire on my car
Hi guys,
I am currently running 235.40.18 on my 04 A4 UltraSport. Can I go up to a 245.40.18 on my stock 18" rims, or will they rub. Let me know. Thanks! |

you can probbly do it on the rear, but no hope in hell on the front without rubbing. i know some guys are running 255/30/ZR19...i know different rim size but still. Front you can go 235 max without rubbing.

Thanks Sonic,
I'm going to stick with the stock rubber size. Thanks for the info! |

I'm not sure you would rub. I run a Toyo 235, which I think generally have a wider section width then other 235 tire and am lowered with 8mm spacers in the front, with no rubbing.
245/40 vs 235/40 is 4mm taller in profile and would stick out around 5mm. Not sure why you want to go to 245/40, but if you are looking to have your tire look beefier, some brands have larger section widths than others. I went from a Pirelli to Toyo and was surprised of how much wider it looks. |

I have no real reason to go up, other than I saw a good deal on tires in that size.
