Buying an A4

I recently moved back from Sweden and I'm thinking about buying an A4.
I've found some great ones.

One is a 2002 and has 118,000 miles on it, U.S miles which would be 73750KM. He want's around $9,000 for it, is that too much?

Also, it's a 1.8turbo. I've heard that they tend to fail after 100,000 miles.

Thanks in advance!

118000 mi. = 189902.592 km

this car has almost 200k on it, i think that 9K is too much for it, especially for 1.8T. The turbo is probably done on it...

Exactly, also from my understanding the maintainance will be a big deal as it has high mileage on it, so the maximum price that you may wanna pay for that kind of mileage should be about 6K.

I love this forum.
One questions and you get a straight on answer.
Yeah I was wrong with the calculations of mileage vs kilometers.
He's selling another Audi. It's also an A4 1.8T, but only has 90,000 miles. I mean, yeah that's good. But I drive 130 miles a day for hockey... I don't know what my best guess would be.

how much is the question? i bought my 2003 A4 a year ago, and its a 3.0 with 132K for 12,000...with the amount of driving you do, you are better off buying a car with more kilometers since it wont depriciate that much.

True on the amount of driving, but I still do not want the car to break down on my way down to practice.
This is a car that I'm going finance and buy on my own, so I want to keep it for a while. I used to own a A6 2.7t 2002 but I sold that when I moved to Sweden. I want the A4 because I'm single, it can fit my hockey gear, and great gas mileage. It also has some power.
I am looking at a couple cars right now. I decided to just post the URL's to the sites so that it's easier to see.

A4 3.0

Red 2002 A4

Gold A4 1

Blue A4

The original A4

There they are. Which one would be the best choice?

gotta go with the 3.0...great gas mileage, lots of power, and naturally aspirated motor will last you a lot longer. Plus it has the lowest km out of all of them. Remember the 3.0 was an expensive upgrade, this car cost a lot more than 1.8t brand new.

spend 20k and you will get a great a4 with like 30 000km on it...then and only then you will be happy! :)
