Default B5 ECU in a B6 car?

I have an APR tuned ECU from my former 2001 A4 1.8TQ and I currently have a 2002 A4 1.8TQ. This may be a dumb questions, but can I swap it?

The setup will be identical otherwise (same turbo, injectors, etc).

I really did not think this was an option at all until I spoke with someone who tunes such cars and he said it is swappable. That didn't make sense to me. What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance!

Call Chris Tapp and ask him, he is local to you, if anyone knows, he does

Thats a tough one, usually the mods are made for the generation or even mid generation break line. So i personally doubt that. I mean you can send APR an email and ask the guy above.
