2004 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro

when I start the car put in drive and step on the accelerator quickly and it revs over 1000 rpm I hear a clicking noise in the dash like a relay switch coming on. Is this normal? I have never heard it before. Has anybody experienced this any suggestions as what it is need help!!!!!

It is not a relay......this is normal.... it is your ABS brake sensors kicking in and checking for any faults it does it everytime you start the car after it has been sitting for a while...I got worried too until my mechanic at Audi told me about it I actually even took it in for service

Alright I get what you are saying and thank you, this switch as you will or ABS sensor you are suggesting, did yours click once when you stared the car and stop,or as the click I am getting happens when I tap on the gas and just as it reaches 1000 Rpms it clicks and it will do this after I have started the car and have driven awhile and then come to a complete stop. It does not always do it either.

Thanks a lot!

It should only do it once you have parked the car and started it back up again and the ABS sensor has "cooled off" enough, i guess you can say "cooled off" even though that this is not the correct term. The sensor sends a paulseating signal to the abs where it checks the current function. this shouldnt happen everytime you come to a full stop and start going again.

For sure... I had same concerns I am sure thats what it is go out drive it faster and then step on the break and see if the ABS kicks in and do this till it does. Or if you already know what the audi abs souns like tell me if it kind sounds like that but a lot less audioable and it doesent rattle as much

to 1move.....i have the same issue and it does not sound like the abs module..(orwhatever its called) its more of a click/rattle sound.. the abs has a deeper tone and the sound sounds like its alot lower than the clck/rattle....juss holler
