Question 2007 A4 (b7) - Burning Oil?

Odd question - but how much oil does your 2007 A4 (B7) burn? I have 34,xxx kms on mine, and the dealer says it's "normal for german cars to burn oil". i had the 25km done by the dealer - but to have the oil light come on @ 34,000 to indicate low oil ... sounds odd to me? I park exactly the same each day, and do not see any oil drippings anywhere. Any recommendations for me?

oh yeah - actually I think I am going to be checking every 2500 or so - just to monitor the drop. anyone got any idea though - or maybe what the "normal" is?

Stick a finger in the tail-pipe(s) and see if it comes out oily (no, it is not a joke!), if it does, it burns oil!
Also you can do a drive with a car following you and have them observe your exhaust.
Monitoring the oil level frequently is a good way to measure oil consumption.
An AUDI, particularly this "young" should not burn ANY oil!!!
I have a 2004 A4 Quattro Turbo and it burns no oil over the 10,000Km between oil changes.
Any dealer telling you that oil consumption in a car this new is normal is not deserving of your patronage: MUST NOT GO BACK THERE... these guys will sabotage your car and then charge you for fixing it! OWASCO in Oshawa did that to me for the 14 months I had my car serviced there.
