2005 A4 3.0 engine
i think your refering to a non-interference engine and if im not mistaken, if the belt broke on the engine i belive there would not be contact with the valves and pistons...im almost positive its a non-interference engine. I know the 1.8t are.
Im not a pro on that engine by any means but just trying to think back to the design of it.
why do you ask?

I'm looking at another A4 for my daughter. It has 120,000 Km on it and the timing belt hasn't been changed yet. The audi dealer has quoted me $ 2000 Canadian to replace the belt. Just trying to give my daughter some information. Thanks. Anyone else care to confirm Sonic's reply? Thanks.
You can get a lower price on the TB change for the 3.0 if you shop around. I was quoted just over $1000....
Dealers are way to expensive for this job. Do a search on here for more info on the 3.0 TB change.
3.0 is a lot smoother engine then the 1.8
Cheers

I am an Eagles fan. I saw them just a couple of weeks ago here in Edmonton. What a great show. Joe Walsh showed Edmonton what he can do with a guitar. Man that guy can play!
