Default 2005.5 A4 Avant 2.0T Engine Sounding Like a Diesel?

Hello All,

Been a while since posting here but I just received my new 2005.5 A4 Avant I purchased off eBay (5th now lol) and it is immaculate minus the engine idling and sounding really rough. I ran my VAG without any issues found but while running if I take the oil cap or dip stick off/out a ton of air sucks into the engine making it almost quit. Would one assume that this is a dead PCV valve or perhaps a vacuum leak elsewhere? The diesel noise does just sound like a ton of air sucking into the engine essentially but I cannot seem to map out where it is coming from. Any help would be much appreciated! Cheers

It's normal. It's the FSI that makes that sound.

Ah of course! Direct Injection & high compression...doy! You think they could have done something to mellow it out tho lol.
