I recently bought a 2003 Audi A4 1.8T from the states (got back late saturday) and I need to replace the missing 1.8T emblem on the trunk.
I've only checked ebay so far and found some that are all silver and others that have a red T. I can't seem to find any close up images on google that show me which is authentic.

In case options matter my car has all the options available except for navigation. Thanks in advance.

 

hmmm... good question... how do you like your car so far?

 

I like it a lot. I need to give it a good wax and interior detailing and also replace the fuel filter because it's making some noise (started halfway home). But I love the AWD, and the look of the car among other things.

I was able to call the dealer today and they sell the emblem for $20 but I forgot to ask the color of the T. I'll call back tomorrow and see what they say.

What is the emblem color for A4 owners on this board?

 

try ebay.de you can get a genuine one from germany mine is all silver/ chrome whatever you call it.. IMO it looks better without the badge

 

afaik, there is no consensus as to why some a4's had a red T and some had a silver T. most of the emblems i have seen in toronto are with a silver T. ecstuning markets their red T as european and sells it for more than double the price of the one with the silver T.

 

no the red T represents a differently modded engine.. it was introduced in 02 with a different package..

at least as far as i know
