04' A4-B6 3.0L driver side HID bulb replace
Ok, so I know there are a bunch of post about HIDs and I am sorry for yet another one. The A4 I drive came stock with HID lights. I recently had the infamous right bulb dipped warning so I got a pair of replacement bulbs from a fellow forum member in Waterloo. Now i replaced the passenger side bulb with no issues (10 minutes) and the bulb works great. The problem I am having is trying to figure out how to remove the driver side HID bulb.
The power steering resevoir is in the way and i am too lazy to drain it, is there another way. Perhaps removing the whole light housing? Any help is much appriciated. the vehicle is 2004 A4-B6 with the 3.0L V6. I saw a post on how to remove bulb from a 1.8T but the drivers side layout is a bit different i think. If there is already a post on this, i apologize and please shoot me a link to it. thanks, Andrew |
Re: 04' A4-B6 3.0L driver side HID bulb replace
No need to remove power steering reservoir. There are 4 screws holding the assembly in place, the two on top you have to take right out, the two near the bottom just loosen them and pull it right out. Then you get nice clearance to change the bulb. If you need more clearance, just simply remove the connector and your done.

Thank you kindly! That was much easier than the way I did the passenger side.:D
