What upgrades should I do?
Hi everyone!
I am looking to get some advice.
A few upgrades I am looking at doing this summer are as follows:
exhaust
air intake
short throw shifter
tune
BOV
window tint
I do not want to spend an arm and a leg on each thing. I do care more about quality than price. I was also wondering with the upgrades I want if I would be better to do some form of stage I or II kit upgrade?
Please share your knowledge and expertise and let me know what you think I should do.
Thanks
Gareth

Re: What upgrades should I do?
You have a couple options. I would choose the BOV or the intake. If you change to a cone filter you will get a little sound off throttle with the stock or upgraded DV. If you go to a BOV then on the stock turbo you have no need to use a cone filter (it is said that the stock airbox is good up to past 300hp).
For the shifter the BEST one is the JHM unit, but the eBay unit for $30 can't be beat. The choice is yours.
Exhaust can be a nice little upgrade but I would consider what you want for the future; if you plan to stay stock or k04 or just or a tune; go to 2.5". If you plan to do a big turbo, wait, and then go 3".

exhaust upgrade really nice for first mod. Just got mine done at PFAFF. Amazing quality with AWE tuning, and Quad chrome. Noticeably more power and styling. the sound is aggressive as well, but not over the top.

Re: What upgrades should I do?
Thanks for the feedback. For the shifter, if one does not want to spend the $400ish on JHM which one would you suggest? The previous owner put a cheap cone intake on that does not have a hook up to the secondary air pump hose. Which is currently causing issues for me. This is why I am looking at the carbonio intake. The diverter valve (instead of the BOV) is what I am looking at. The forge 008 to be exact. I am doing this incase I plan on going stage two tune instead of 1, and incase I plan a turbo swap in the future.
Thoughts on that?

Get all your parts connected (i.e. Exhaust, Upgraded DV/BOV, Pod Filter)
Have the Stage 2 tune done.
Get an HFC (High Flow Cat) while you're at it too. It would free up your turbo for more gains. I would suggest a test pipe but that's bad for the environment.
Just my two cents on the Pod Filter, it doesn't really produce that much gains. I would stick to stock and saving your money from the Pod Filter for the rest of your mods
