Weird knocking sound

Weird knocking sound
I've run into an irritating problem, I recently just changed my valve cover gasket since it was leaking. No problems with the install every thing is golden
A few weeks ago I had a oil level warning light when a did a sharp bank to the right exiting to the 401. then the light just went away
Now, its been beaming at me lately. I understand that the oil level sensor may need to be replaced. but the weird thing about it is there is a knocking sound (as if there way a loose pulley or metal to metal hitting each other) The sound only comes out when the light shows on my dash. If the light is off, the knocking sound disappears.
Hope you guys can shed some light on this.
Thanks guys

Re: Weird knocking sound
The dipstick is fine everything else is a ok. I just get the knocking sound (makes my engine sound like a diesel engine) when the oil warning light goes on

Re: Weird knocking sound
Found out that there was some residue from the last oil change. The catch screen in the oil pump was clogged. Had the oil pump changed and new oil pumped into it.
if you hear the knocking in your engine, don't dare run it.
Thanks guys
