1move a I fixed the issue last week at the meet. Thanks 1move! It is relatively easy to take apart the shifter console. Once you find the magnet it can be put back in proper position. One thing 1move found out is that the correct polarity of the magent must be maintained when inserting the magnet back in to place.

Thanks again 1move. This saved me mucho dinero's at the dealer!

Thanks, 1move. So... my A4 is a FWD (with CVT)... the procedure is not going to help. I had the car scanned today and it came back with a '17090 P0706 Transmission range sensor circuit'. How bad it is ?
