Plasma Ignition for Audi
I had a new ignition system installed on the 2001 A4 1.8T. It has brought my car alive very smooth acceleration and improvements in gas mileage. I have this installed about 2 weeks ago, sorry if this sounds like a shameless plug, its not but I can say its a different car. I have 220000kms on the car and it really drives well I do recommend this to anyone if your goal is either power or fuel savings. Here are a few pictures of the system.
Company is out of Winchester Ontario, just a bit south of Ottawa. Great group of guys to deal with.
Not sure if this is allowed but here is the website:spdispark.com cant say enough about the system. The ability to actually tune the spark is a first that I have heard of. I have tested the spark tuning and it can make a difference I have dropped about 3-4L/100 with a stage 1 tune from Alientech and the SPDI-Spark system. Definably feel the a torque gain. Plans are to take it to a Audi tuner and see what more can be done with the system. Should be interesting.

Re: Plasma Ignition for Audi
Finally a good test car:
2006 B7 A4 Avant MT 2.0T, Vehicle is bone stock. Using an accelerometer (calculates longitudinal g-force and gps positioning) we did a comparison between the stock ignition and the SPDI ignition. There were 6 stock pulls and 6 SPDI pulls an the same day and the same outside temps (had to work fast) The graph is an "average' of all the stock pulls and the SPDI pulls. All said and done ther is abotu a 6% gain from SPDI.

Here is a dyno done in Montreal at Dyno Doc. The test car is a 2005 JETTA GLI with a k04 turbo upgrade using GIAC software. Unfortunately the DV was either malfunctioning or could not handle the extra boost from 4000RPM up. Regardless you can definitely see how much of a difference this system can make. The cost has come down quite a bit retail is $868
