i'm doing a complete tear down and clean/repair of my interior. one thing i would like to completely remove is that phone jack under the arm rest in the centre console.

can i cut it completely out without an issue or is it connected to other things and cause a light or error to show on the dash instrument panel ?

my plan is to cut it back then cap it off with a marret and electrical tape. would anyone know if that is good enough ?
