Looking to buy a 2001 A4 2.8 got some questions
hey guys I'm new to audi's and to audiforums
i originally joined a while back looking for general info for my father but ne bought a CTS instead now i need to get a car!!!
I found a 2001 A4 2.8 auto 96K
What should I be aware of on this car if i go look at it???? the ad says full service history and maintenance
any pointers would be great I was looking at a Jetta 1.8T but the guy can't show me that he has done the timing belt which he claims has been done (I'm still not sure about that one) I would much rather spend my money on an audi if its worth it.

that seems reasonable to me. Do you homework on the car and take it to an audi mechanic. look for gasket seal leaks, check the AC, check for any 'noises' on the road. Oh, and your in Brampton would salt be a big problem?
At the end of the day you are buying a $5000 car. So don't expect perfection either. V6 engines are more reliable than the 1.8Ts and thats a win for 10 year old cars.

I'm not expecting perfection by any means.... I am aware of salt and rust but not too sure about problem areas on these cars.
I'm not very familiar with the 2.8 thats why i came here I would prefer it over the 4cyl

I just sold that exact car.
I agree, the V6 is the way to go.
It has 235k and I got $4900.00
It was not in perfect shape, but no rust and ran mint.
$5 g`s for 96K, good deal with the belt done.........
